The Bloom Trail library is named after Donald Croarkin, who has served Bloom High School District 206 for over 36 years as a librarian, archivist, coach, and friend. Upon his retirement in May, 2000, this honor was bestowed upon him. His service and dedication will never be forgotten.

Are you tired of clicking aimlessly around the Internet in search of your research? If the answer is “YES,” you should check out the latest database World Book Online. This database provides full-text encyclopedia entries, images, primary source documents, maps and much more. Be sure to check out the features designed to make research a breeze like the “Citation Builder,” which assures you’ll get all your citations done quickly and accurately!

Abraham Lincoln Book Award

What?

The Abraham Lincoln Award is an Illinois reading initiative for high school students that is awarded annually to the author of the book voted as most outstanding by participating students in grades nine through twelve. The award is named for Abraham Lincoln, one of Illinois’ most famous residents and himself an avid reader and noted author. The Abraham Lincoln Award is designed to encourage high school students (YOU!) to read for personal satisfaction and become familiar with authors. To be eligible to vote you must read at least five (5) of the twenty-two titles nominated.

How?

1. Check out the list of books here choose a book that looks interesting to you.

2. Go to the school or public library and check out the Abe book display to select your book. The library has all these titles available as e-books by accessing the library catalog. Access the e-book collection here. Simply login with your school G-MAIL account to check out and read e-books. 

3. READ YOUR BOOK

4. Submit your book evaluation to Ms. Bergeron in the library or through this Google Form. 

5. Brag to your friends that you are getting free stuff from the library.
